Each year, the WPCA prepares and submits the operating and capital expenditures budget for the ensuing fiscal year to the Board of Selectmen on or before April 15. The Board of Selectmen returns the proposed budget with their formal written comments no later than May 20. The WPCA adopts the budget no later than the fourth Wednesday of June, and files the same with the Town Clerk. The budget is prepared on a cash and accrual basis and is forwarded to the Board of Selectmen and the Board of Finance by the WPCA at the time of filing.
