Of 11 possible pollution impacts studied, the #1 factor is “human activity.”
The Brookfield Water Pollution Control Authority (WPCA) is conducting a Wastewater Study of the approximate 1,500 properties in the Brookfield Candlewood Lake drainage area and their impact on Candlewood Lake. One goal of the 2019-2010 study is to determine if it is beneficial to intercept the septic flows into the lake and at what cost. The study is partially funded by a CT Clean Water Fund grant.
